Business analyst role on software testing

Business analysts are supposed to work with customers and get customer requirements. But how useful a business analyst can play a role on software testing?

Customer requirements are converted into software system after coding is finished. But how good was the software design and thereafter the coding work based on the requirements which were gaathered for the project? It can be judged only after reviewing the produced software system. So the business analyst gets going when he receives the constructed software system and does a thorough check. This check can not be performed by a layman or a person who is not familiar with business rules or flow of transactions or flow of information to perform any task using the software system. A business analyst thoroughly knows these things and thus will be able to see if all the functionality of the software system is correct or not. If any piece of the software system is not working as intended then it has to be corrected.

That is why a business analyst is the first person who should be doing software testing.
