Project processes in SAP: ASAP methodology

For any project, the project processes include project initiation, project planning, project execution and project closure. The SAP methodology (Accelerated SAP) processes include requirement specification, blueprinting, realization, testing and go live. How these 2 sets of processes are mapped?

Before discussing further, let us first understand what is ASAP. ASAP is a methodology which uses a standard process map to implement a SAP system for a customer.

To implement SAP, you need to understand and get customer requirements. These requirements needs to be specified and formatted. The requirement specifications need to be mapped with functionality available in SAP. Once mapping is done then the functionality needs to be configured in SAP system. Once all the functionality is configured then the entire system needs to be tested. Once the system is found to be working as per customer /end user requirements then it needs to be deployed so that end users…
